Australian tax, super and take-home pay calculators
Eighteen australian-finance tools that treat AU rules as AU rules. Work out your take home pay in Australia, super, HECS-HELP or stamp duty, then read the formula, the assumptions and the date the figures were last checked on the tool
How a run works
From a payslip to a number you can check, in four steps
Every AU tool follows the same pattern. Nothing is stored on our server when you press Calculate, and nothing is hidden behind an account.
Pick the tool
Open the australian-finance category and choose the job: pay, super, study loan or stamp duty. Each tool carries an AU badge so you know which country's rules it runs on.
Enter what you have
Type the numbers off your payslip, your super statement, your loan balance or the contract price. If an input is optional, the tool says so rather than guessing on your behalf.
Read the working, not just the answer
The result comes with the formula, the assumptions behind it, and the figures used with the date they were checked. You can follow the arithmetic instead of trusting a black box.
Share it or report it
After you calculate, the inputs sit in the URL, so you can send the whole run to your accountant or your partner. If the answer looks wrong, tell us and we will look at the code.

How we work
A clear path from first conversation to finished work.
Australian tax and money calculators
Eighteen australian-finance tools covering super, HECS-HELP, take-home pay and stamp duty, with the figures and their review dates shown on each calculator page. Reviewed each July. General information only, not tax or financial advice.
Finance and loan calculators
Thirty-eight finance tools for loans, mortgages, compound interest and debt payoff. Each one shows the formula and the assumptions behind the result, so the working can be checked rather than taken on trust.
Health and fitness calculators
Twenty-four health tools including BMI, TDEE, calories and macros, reviewed when the issuing body updates its guidance. General information only, not medical advice.
Trade, construction and farming calculators
Thirteen trade-construction tools and nineteen farming tools for concrete, load, stairs and agricultural quantities. Useful for estimating, not a substitute for engineering sign-off.
A working reference library, not a lead-generation funnel. When an AU figure changes, we change the code and add a test, then the calculator page shows the new date.
The four jobs
Four things people come to the AU money tools for
Each one tells you what it works out and what you need in front of you before you start. The figures behind them sit on the tool page with their review date.
Take-home pay and PAYG withholding
Turns a gross salary or hourly rate into what lands in the account, with the withholding shown separately. Have your pay cycle, your gross figure and whether you have a study loan flagged with your employer.
Super calculator: contributions and balance projections
Works out employer and salary sacrifice contributions, and projects a balance over the years you choose. Bring your current balance, your salary, the extra you plan to add and the fee and return figures from your fund statement.
HECS-HELP calculator: study loan repayments
Shows the compulsory repayment that comes out of your income and how the balance moves year to year. You need your repayment income and your current loan balance from the ATO or your myGov account.
Stamp duty calculator: property purchase costs
Adds duty and the other purchase costs to the contract price so you can size the deposit properly. Have the state or territory, the price, and whether you are a first home buyer, investor or buying off the plan.
05 — Common questions
What people ask before they trust an AU tax number
Short answers, and the honest limits of what a calculator can do for you.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Why are there no tax rates or thresholds in this page copy?
- Because a marketing page is the worst place to keep a number that moves. Rates, thresholds, brackets and every dollar result sit on the calculator page itself, printed next to the date we checked them. That way you can see how fresh the figure is at the moment you use it, rather than reading a paragraph that was true two budgets ago.
- When are the Australian tools reviewed?
- The AU tax, super and study loan tools are reviewed each July, when the new financial year figures land. If something changes outside that window, or a reader reports a wrong result, we fix it then instead of waiting. Corrections are made as a code change with a test attached, so the same mistake cannot quietly come back.
- Is this financial or tax advice?
- No. General information only. These are calculators, not financial or tax advice, and CalcHub cannot advise on individual circumstances. A tool does not know about your other income, your deductions, your residency history or your fund's rules. Use the result as a working figure and take anything that matters to a registered tax agent or financial adviser.
- Do you store the numbers I type in?
- The calculation runs in your browser. Nothing from that step is stored on our server beyond what the URL itself contains. When you press Calculate, the inputs are written into the query string so you can bookmark or share the run, which also means you should think twice before posting a link with your salary in it.
- A result looks wrong. What should I send you?
- Use the contact form and give us the calculator name or link, the inputs you used, the number you got and the number you expected. A source helps if you have one. That is enough for us to reproduce the run, write a failing test, and push the fix.
- Is it free, and do I need an account?
- Free, and no sign-up. All 206 calculators across the 17 categories are open, including the 18 australian-finance tools. There is no paywall on the working, the assumptions or the sources.
