The maths group covers the arithmetic and conversions people look up rather than memorise: fractions, percentages, quadratic roots, right triangles, and unit conversions between metric and imperial.
Every one of these shows the working rather than just the answer, which matters most for students. Seeing the substitution step is the difference between copying a result and being able to reproduce it in an exam.

Percentage CalculatorSolve every common percentage problem: a percentage of a number, one number as a percentage of another, percentage change, and increases or decreases.EverydayFraction CalculatorAdd, subtract, multiply and divide fractions, then see the answer simplified, as a mixed number, as a decimal and as a percentage.Math & ConversionQuadratic Equation SolverSolve any quadratic equation ax² + bx + c = 0, with real or complex roots, plus the discriminant, vertex, axis of symmetry and a plotting table.Math & ConversionPythagorean Theorem CalculatorFind the missing side of a right triangle from the other two, plus the area, perimeter and both acute angles, in metric or imperial units.Math & ConversionTemperature ConverterConvert any temperature between Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin and Rankine, with the landmark reference points that let you sanity-check the answer.Math & ConversionLength ConverterConvert a length between millimetres, centimetres, metres, kilometres, inches, feet, yards, miles and nautical miles using exact factors.Math & Conversion

Questions about math & conversion calculators
- Do these show the steps?
- Yes. Where a calculation has a meaningful derivation, a Steps view shows the formula, the substitution with your numbers, and the result of each stage. For conversions the working is the conversion factor itself, which is stated on the page so you can verify it against your own reference.
- Which conversion factors are used?
- The internationally defined exact values: one inch is exactly 25.4 millimetres, one pound is exactly 0.45359237 kilograms, and temperature conversions use the exact linear relationships. Results are rounded for display only, so small differences against another tool are presentation rather than disagreement.
